“Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee the crown of life” Rev 2:10 ASV

My mother passed away on April 2, 2007, just 11 days away from her 57th birthday. I had so many questions, but most of all I had been looking for comfort and the LORD gave me these verses…

“And Isaac brought [Rebecca] into his mother Sarah’s tent, and took Rebekah, and she became his wife. And he loved her. And Isaac was comforted after his mother’s death” Gen 24:67 ASV

I had always thought that when my mother would pass away, I would have the comfort of a wife. There are many dreams and wishes left uncompleted. My daddy’s companion and comforter is no more with him. But the LORD has another Comforter for me and my family…

“It is expedient for you that I go away; for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I go, I will send him unto you” Joh 16:7 ASV

Throughout the week he has revealed to me, my father, and my four sisters how this was His Will, and so we take comfort in His Love and His Spirit.

“The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; let the Lord’s name be praised” Job 1:21 BBE

If you have a loved one that has passed away, please do not be angry with God about it, as we are tempted to. Remember that He loves your loved one even more than you do.
